Questions people ask before buying.
What does "bugging in" mean?
Sheltering at home during an emergency instead of leaving. For most events, from storms to outages, staying put in a prepared home is the safer and more comfortable choice. Ready Homestead is the plan for doing that well.
Is it an app I download from a store?
No. Ready Homestead runs in your web browser at app.readyhomestead.app, on phones, tablets and computers. You can add it to your home screen so it opens like an app.
Does it work with no internet?
Yes, once it has loaded on that device. The plan and your records are kept in the browser, and the app opens from a saved copy when there's no connection. You need a connection to sign in, which you do every 14 days, and for household sharing to catch up.
Do I need an account?
Only your email address. You sign in with a link we email you; there's no password. We use your email to check your purchase and to limit each purchase to 3 devices.
Where is my data kept?
Your plan, answers and stock list stay in your browser on your device. If you turn on household sharing, the shared plan is also stored in Google's Firebase so your household's devices can sync. See the privacy policy.
Is $9.99 really the whole price?
Yes. One payment per person covers the full plan on up to 3 devices, including updates. There is no subscription and no in-app upgrade.
Can my family use it?
Each person needs their own purchase. Household sharing then links everyone's devices to one shared plan, so the family works on the same list.
Can I get a refund?
Email [email protected] with your receipt. Once a purchase is refunded, it no longer opens the web app.
